String Quartet in G (2020)
String Quartet in G is Alex McGrath's first String Quartet. It is comprised of three movements:
I. Allegro
II. Andante Misterioso
III. Adagio e Scherzo
The above rendition was performed by the award-winning, New York-based Argus Quartet in early 2021.
Between the Cracks at the End of the World (2020)
Between the Cracks at the End of the World is a panicked frenzy for Alto Sax and Violin. This chaotic duet was commissioned during the 2020 COVID-19 Quarantine.
Do Not Disturb (2021)
Do Not Disturb is a work for Guitar and Voice that was written for the 2021 24-Hour Concert at Butler University. This concert is a fun frenzy for its composers, who pick their performers at random exactly 24 hours before the concert starts, and have the remaining time to write, rehearse, and ultimately have their piece premiered live in concert.
Do Not Disturb is a ballad about the alarming amount of useless or bizarre notifications that quite often clog one's phone with random information and silly news stories.
The Sojourner (2018)
The Sojourner is a small chamber work for piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and trumpet, depicting a traveler's journey across the countryside.
Emerge (2019)
Emerge is a trumpet duet commissioned for the 2019 Mu Phi Epsilon Coming Out Day Recital at Butler University, celebrating the music of LGBTQ+ individuals.
